Default Apache Track System

About to purchase a Outlander 650 and could use a snow track system with the snow drifting the roads shut theses past few winters.

So do any of you have any experience with the Apache Track system for the Outlander 650. I don't want a snow machine as some times there may be a mile or more of snow free trail before getting into 12-48 inch drifts.

Anyway any input would be appreciated. Anyone using the 570 with tracks??

I've known guys with tracks on Polaris RZR's, Can-Am Mavericks, and even a Kawasaki Teryx. They all had 750+ cc machines. The Outlander 650 is just as powerful as the Kawasaki 750, so I don't think you'd have any issues beyond what tracks cause. You need to take more fuel with you than you normally would, and you'll feel a bit of power loss.

Thanks Moose
CanAm is all new to me as I have had Polaris's for the last 20 years. Kinda off the wall but do you think the 650 could be setup with a different different clutch setup like they do for larger tires because it is on the lower end of the power range? I think I'm correct in thinking there are different clutch setups for different tire sizes but could be wrong. I can't find anything on line and the dealer is 70 miles from the ranch so......

Never played with the clutching on a CVT myself but there are springs and weights that change shift points available out there. Here's a couple I'd try:

Moose....thanks for that. Gonna try a trip to town where the dealer is located and will see it one of the mechanics there have any ideas. They have Polaris and CanAm quads and snow machines so should be up to speed on the good stuff.

If you have a moment what size tires are you running?

Still using the stock 26" ITP Terracross tires. I bought the quad last summer but have only been out on 1 actual ride. Use it to plow and get firewood out of the hills in VT. Tires are very good in the snow. I'll probably go up to 27" when they wear out. I think I went up to 27" on the 650. Interco Swamplites. Good all around tires.
