What is the highest octane you can run in ds .Ihave been running 110,112 in mine, seems to run a lot cooler.Just thought I'd ask,Thanks for any information.

You can run as high of octane as you want, but you will be sacrificing power. Unless you are running hot with 92 octane, there would be no need to try to run cooler with higher octane. If you are running hot with 92, then something is wrong.

The octane rating is the fuels ability to resist detonation. This is designed to prevent high compresion engines from burning the fuel befor the spark ignites it. To prevent this preignition, the fuel is designed to burn slower than a lower rated fuel. This means that in a motor that doesn't have the compression and heat to burn this slower igniting fuel, it is harder to ignite. Hence a loss of power.

I was slow to believe this myself untill Dynojet Research showed me overlayed dyno charts of my quad with 110 octane race fuel and 92 octane pump gas. The pump gas curve was 2 HP above the race fuel curve all the way through the rev range. I hope people can now learn from my mistake and waisted money. I've said this befor but this is truely a case were saving money can actually make you more HP.
