Jon,
On your question,
My Busisness partner (Nick)saw a "BestInTheDesert" race on ESPN or SpeedVision about a month ago,He then said lets enter the next one!!I said what the heck!
Well as it turned out the next one was 2 weeks away!!At that point I thought there was no way we could get ready,Nick said it was to late he had already sent in the race $ deposit!
From there we started overnighting parts, got racrdude involved, then burned the midnight oil......and Wha-La,it some how all came together!
I look forward to another one.
Ya have to try it,lotta fun!
Jeff

<< Jeff it look like they have more photo's of your tean on the race course and more photo's of Knutz team in the Pits. Don two question what shock were you using and what size engine in Q99 >>

The other team that ran a DS with my logo ran flawlessly as well. The only mechanical problem was a broken Hyper Tech carbon fiber wheel, but we finished the race on it due to our Goodyear Run-Flat tires.I haven't seen a picture of it in the pits yet. I just went thew all the pics I could find, and only found two of the other bike, and both were action shots. With Dean Sundahl and two local riders aboard, they finished 3rd[I think about 24 minutes ahead of Jeff]. They went by the DS, that didn't run my motor, so fast[on a dry lake] that the other team called me that Tuesday to see what had been done to it.

It's still only a 650, with less compresion[11.2:1] and cam[sport cams] than Jeff's Baja. It does have a ported head and uses a 45MM Mikuni though. With the jetting way off, I slapped it on the dyno the day befor the race. It showed 50.2 HP, but was lean on the bottom, and way too rich up top. Befor the race I set the jetting perfectly, and the team was very pleased with the difference. I'd estimate 53-55rwhp once the jetting was set. Keep in mind, these dyno #'s were using the stock air box with the lid on.

The front shocks are Elka's, and the rear is the stock shock, re-valved by TCS.

Racrdude and Jeff, Hey guys, I'm on your side! I never said that Troy ripped into anyone, I didn't think it was fair for Jeff to have to listen to what ever was said to him befor he was allowed onto the podium. Since Troy had just bitched[on the podium] about the quads "holding him up", and then Jeff got "talked to" because he came in shortly there after, the rumors and politics were started. That IS racing. You guys did great, and can be extremely proud of your finish. The other team that had my help has alot more experience, so they should have been embarrased if you had finished ahead of them. If you guys plan to race more of these races, let me know how I can help. I am proud to have my name on the side of your quad. Are you planning on running the KTM 150?

Knutz,

How do you like the Elka shocks? They are all the rave on the EXRiders web site (yes, I know. Wrong quad).

This looks fun....
