Why are some of you running the 97 leaner needle when you are complaining about the lean blah! of the bottom? I would really like some input on this because I am re-setting up the accelerator pump, and I need some jusification. Thank you.

Hey AngryBajaBoy

Row Woods just sent me the pump parts to my 45 mm carb.

Can you keep me up to date on you progress?

Thanks

im having the same problem with the bike falling on its face when you punch the throttle.i think im going up on my main jet on see what happens.if a bike falls on its face then its lean.it just not getting enough gas.iv got the 150 main and 40 pilot.

Well I am heading to ST. Anthony at 6:00am in the morning to hook up with Bat. I will be giving the new accelerator pump it's first real shakedown and I will report back tommorow night. I gave it a quick rip up here in Wyoming at 6100 ft when I got in tonight not one BLAH, man am I stoked I am glad that I changed the pilot to a 37.5 I think the 40 would have been to much, I will probably have to drop down to a 147.5 main also. I will try the 150 up here and see what happens but I should be able to lean it out to a 145 at this altitude. By the way I stopped off at Rocky Mountain ATV and splurged on some new 20x10x10 9-paddle Skat Trak Extremes today we will see how they work versus the 20x10x9 10-paddle Skat Trak Edges of my buddies that he had borrowed me. I will keep you posted.

dude im running a 175 main and may even have to go to a 180.the thing is my pilot jet is way too lean but i dont know where to start as far as jet size to ritchen it up.any suggestions.remember,i went from 150 to 175-180 on the main,so ill probably have to make a decent jump on the pilot too.its amazing the jetting difference from Tn. to the west coast.

You don't have to mess with your pilot jet at all. It doesn't really matter what pilot jet you have in there but you are definatly not lean in the pilot. Pilot jets only control your idle circuit an maybe just a taste up to 1/8 throttle. The reason it falls on its face is because it a big air carb! The only way to correct it is to put the accelerator pump back in. But don't do it, it really isn't worth the trouble you get rid of that blah, but it make the mid range to rich. Plus there is the spring tension issue when you use it. I hear you about the mains though I may have to jet up also.
