Default 45mm Carb settings?

(lilnotts) Gas usage seemed to be the same. (Get the carb and port your intake). The only downside is the throttle stiffness, I think after a few more rides it won't seem as bad (need to strengthen my thumb).

Thanks for the update BigBaja, Did you purchase the 45mm from Ron Woods? and if so, I know he ships them out with a 150 main and a 40 pilot but where is the clip on the needle and what size nozzle does the carb have set up from him?
I just installed mine and I'm about a week away from starting it up. Thx for your help. Rich A

If you run the 45 w/o the accl. pump you can get a smaller spring (from Ron Wood) and the thumb throttle is fine.

I run a 45 pilot and a 150 main w/o the accl. pump.

Quadman:

Did you get the smaller spring from Ron Wood?

Just got back from 5 days at Pismo and my clutch forearm is more sore than my throttle thumb.

Duneme, how is the bottem end with your carb setting ( 45 pilot, 150 main)
Is there as little hesitation. I think this carb has great potencial, I run mine w/o the acc pump also and my thumb is fineAfter i put the RWR spring in.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I notice is if the bike bogs at all and I try to throttle out of it, it just ends up bogging worse (like it is getting too much fuel. This could be the case I guess since lets I am opening up the jet more and the cylinder is not drawing any more air ino itself since the revs are not up.

I think this bog has more to do with cams. Overall, the power is awesome. The low end bog is something I just need to shift out of or slowly roll the throttle out of.

I do a lot of hill climbing and the power for the hills is awesome.

I ran the 45 pilot / 150 main at Pismo and I think I was a bit fat. I would probably jet down one next trip. I just got done jetting up the pilot and didn't think about that when I jetted my main that the pilot would effect the main in that it is aways flowing through it. I usually ride at 4000' so, not used to sea level riding.
