I need some help figuring out this one at idle the bike sounds just fine but when you give it some gas the bike stumble and falls on its f ace as if it has no power and its making a he!! of a clattering noise from the engine very loud its not a broke cam i checked its not the carb i checked and its not the timing chain i checked that to NEEEDHELP DSMIKE,HURYCNE,ROOSTINONYOU AND ANYBODY ELSE THAT KNOWS ABOUT THESE MOTORS


THE Motor sounds horriable at mid throttle and full I HAVE GOT TO GET THIS FIXED

What octane are you running?

What compression are you running?

Majorechos sounded similar to what you are describing at fsw, and ended up being detonation.

Have you pulled the header off and checked to make sure there is nothing blocking the exhaust. AZSand and I have had the exhaust gasket crush and block the exhaust. It didn't make a terrible noise though. Just trying to throw some things out there.

have you visually checked to see if the cams are lined up at tdc.(cam chain slipped on gear)

Is the rattle at idle or at hi rpms ' low oil pressure timing chain rattle???? have the valves been serviced???? more info please?????[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

are you sure the cam chain tensioner is o.k. and do you know the carb is good i know you said it's ok but do you know that the rubber diapham is good. give us some more to work with i would try the chain tension

well my noise was from valve clearance, it was making a clattering noise all the time, at idle or with greater rpms, i would check your valve clearance and then check them again

I KNOW THAT THE CARB IS OK BECAUSE I PUT MY STOCKER ON IT AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING I HAVE NOT CHECKED THE EXHAUST IT SEEMS TO MAKE THE NOISE AT JUST ABOVE IDLE AND BEYOND IT SOUNDS LIKE THE THING IS SLOWLY BLOWING UP THERE ARE NO MOTORMODS EXCEPT FOR A PIPE AND JETTING

I'M RUNNING 93 OCTANE

STOCK COMPRESSION

CAMS LINED UP TDC!

TIMING CHAIN FEELS VERY TIGHT AND SNUG

RATTLES AT HIGHER RPMS THE SOUND IS MORE FROM THE RIGHT SIDE (IF YOU ARE SITTING ON IT)

VALVES HAVE NOT BEEN SERVICED WILL THEY RATTLE AND CAUSE IT TO RUN LIKE A TURTLE ?
