Default Question about oil. Serious responses only.

I've been using Castrol in my DS for 3 years. No clutch problems and the engine is fine. But then again I have been using honda oil in my street bike for 138,262 miles and it is in perfect shape (only lost 5psi compression). I think as long as it's not synthetic, you keep it clean, change it freequently and it meets Bombardier's specs, go for it.

Are you using just the Castrol GTX or the stuff for quads and bikes. I was using the GTX.

I am still wondering if I should stay with my Castol 10-40 in the winter and my Valvoline VR1 20-50 in the summer, or should I change to something different? Is it bad to use the Valvoline VR1 in a quad?

you can use any oil that dosen't have anti friction additives because of the clutch.

I'm running the Klotz 10w40 in the DS that made the NOS dyno pulls. If was was going to slip ,it would have by now.
