Any DS's that never seen sand??

Hey,
it seems all the DS owners on this forum are into duning and have access to dunes. Are there any people that drive DS's in the woods, pits, etc. but that don't dune?
I don't live anywhere near any ride-able dunes, just wondering, cause I'm probably getting a DS tuesday. I just hope to god I won't be dissapointed. All we have here is loads of dirt roads, trails, pits and snow. A lot of hills and cool trails tho. Anyway, hope I'm making the right choice.

I think the closest dunes from me are like 6 hrs away. I dont know if i would want to drive that far away, plus I cant afford to buy paddles that i would only use once a year. I got plenty of snowmachine/atv trails in my area. I can just take off from my house, its nice.

75% of my riding is woods trails, love the DS, would never consider anything else, been riding it exclusively for over 2 years, sold all my other bikes beause they never got rode after buying the DS.
I travel great lengths to ride sand though - I couldn't imagine a year without a dune trip. No distance is too great and no paddle is too expensive for the pleasure I seek in the sand !!!

i don't ride much trail but there are a lot of trails in the oregon dune and we spend a lot of time there, i don't know what kind of trails you guys ride but here if you ride more than a Lt80 you might want to slow down, the branches will take you off your quad, but hey there a lot of fun

Well, here in WI the closest dune is 10 hrs away in MI or 14 hrs away in OK.
I have had it in gravel pits and ya there is SOME sand, it was at a sand pit once but nothing that even comes close to a doon. I could see acroos the sand pit, and there was 1 crappy bowl.
It will see sand at snake hunt!

Would love to try it in the sand but here my options are woods, mud or rocks, but hey works fine in all of those so for now I'll just dream of what a good sand dune would be like.Wouldn't trade it for another!
