polaris 400 help
This i know for a fact. Piston is shattered. When that happens the pieces usually end up in the crankcase and cause cracking and breaking. The counterbalance has water in it also.
The motor is still in the 4 wheeler. I bought it a couple weeks ago knowing it had big probs. I also found another 400 that was blown up but not as bad, and am currently rebuilding it for the one I bought two weeks ago.
That motor(broken piston) has the potential for a very costly repair bill(even if you do it yourself) but since I don't have it out yet I don't know what all is trashed inside it for sure.
I don't know when I will get the time to getting it tore out of there and torn down to see how bad it really is.

Are you talking to him or me? I could look at the counterbalance I have out of the 2nd 400 I bought and see if there is some way to tell what tooth the dot is on and mail it to you if you want. As far as the stator and stuff, I would sell it to you if brando doesn't want it. 1st come, 1st serve. Either way I could check the counterbalance and try to help you.

Yes the stator is there. I don't need the second motor so if brando doesn't want it we'll see what we can do. Honestly I'm afraid that the 1st motor is so damaged it won't be worth fixing, and if thats the case, brando probably wouldn't want it and I will talk to you about the stator.
