Blackwater tires?

Blackwater tires?
Anybody know anything about ITP's Blackwaters. I'm thinking of getting some 20x12x9's for my Raptor. I want something for mainly all types of conditions, but something decent in the snow and regular trails as well. I'm putting them on a spare pair of wheels I have so I still can swap on my stock tires. Any info would be great, thanks.

Never ran them on a sport bike before, but on the ute, they have good straight ahead traction. Only thing I didn't like is that they would tend to slip sideways to easily. On a Raptor, I would think you would really need to control the power, or you are going to spin the rear end out all the time.

hdman, I am an advocate for the Blackwaters on sport quads. I used to run them on my Banshee, and they were great on that quad too. I am not a racer, so sliding predictabilty and light weight would be compromised with them, but for straight line traction and hillclimbing, they are awesome. I put them on my Predator (check out my pics). I ride in the desert; it is rough terrain, not sand but very hard terrain, cactus needles like nails, rocks as sharp as knives, etc. In the first month of running Razrs I flatted them 3 times, and blew out the sidewall on one. Put the BW's on, and the hook up is unbeleivable compared to the razr's. No flats, great wear. Predators have a problem with rear wheel spin anyway, but with the BW's, I almost have too much traction sometimes. Interestingly enough, BW's are actually a moderate weight tire. They actually weigh about the same as a set of Holeshot XCR's with better hook-up IMO. I haven't seen them on a Raptor yet, but they are awesome on my Predator.

I've got em on my Predator. They are far superior to the Razrs as far as traction goes. I do have to ride on the blacktop some, and they do wear quicker when you do. But still, is definitely a good rear tire. I have 23 inch Kenda Klaws on the front. They have also held up real well.

The 03 Predator uses a 10" rim, so I have the 20-12-10 BW mounted on Douglas .190 rims. I believe they actually measure 21" height inflated, though. These are also the lightest size BW's ITP makes. When you start looking at the tires over 20" the weight goes up quite a bit. I would also guess that the 20-12-9 BW might be an extra pound per tire or so over the 10" tire. Either way, with Douglas alum. rims they about the same weight as a set up of Hole shot XCR's.
