Sportsman 600 03' Tires???

I am looking to purchase larger tire for my Polaris 600 03' Sportsman. I am considering ITP 598 m/s with C-series rims. Will 27" tires and rims fits and not rub the fenders, I don't want to install a lift kit. Should I stay with 26" tires... Any ideas or experience would be great!! Also, where can I get the best price for the entire bigfoot kit. Polaris tried to tell me that if I change tire sizes it will have an effect on how the 4-wheel drive system will operate, is this an issuse or just OEM non-sence....

tks,

Sportsman 600 03' Tires???

I have 26" Gators on my Sportsman and they rub the fenders pretty bad whenever the suspension is compressed much. I would say 27" would be even worse. I have heard from other Sportsman owners also that anything over the stock 25's will most likely rub. I don't want a lift kit either so I have just put up with it so far. As far as the 4 wheel drive system being affected, I've never heard that before. The best prices that I've found for just about everything atv have been on EBay. Hope this helps.

Sportsman 600 03' Tires???

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the help, I read another post that a guy saw some rider who were running 26" 589's and they looked clear from the fenders?? I spoke with ITP and they told me 27" will fit right on, I think this is a loose area so I am trying to find someone who actually has them on their bike. Do you know if 25x10x12 and 25x12x12 will fit on the stock chrome polaris rims?? I could just buy the 25" tires in a 589 type if they will fit my rims.

tks,
Mark

Sportsman 600 03' Tires???

They should fit fine. My Gators are also 10" wide on the front. Most everyone I talked to, including in these forums, said 10" wide on the front would rub the tie rod ends and maybe the struts. I was so convinced that i went ahead and spent $107.00 on the Highlifter aluminum wheel spacers so they wouldn't rub. Well, I got the tires mounted and put them on without the spacers and they aren't even close to rubbing. So, yes the tires will fit on the stock rims fine. But don't worry about the fronts rubbing the tie rod ends or struts until you see for yourself that they are. It is good to seek many opinions on any subject though. I am fairly new to this game also and am just relating my personal expirience.

Jeff
