DID 520 X-Ring chain installation difficulty
There is one thing to look for before even leaving the store where you bought the chain. On the master link be sure the side plate with the pins already press fitted in it have the pins all the way in. The pins should be all the way up to the head in the plate, and should be almost flush. If the pins are sticking out of the plate a few mils, demand a different master link. You don't even need to try to put the link together, all you have to look at is the side plate with the pins already press fitted. They have some serious tolerance trouble with their master links. If those pins aren't all the way in, you'll have to press the two halves much harder together, and more than likely they won't even assemble.
Hey, aren't these chains supposed to be the best for least amount of stretch? I've already had to adjust it 3 or 4 times!!! I guess I just abuse it too much, lol.
