DID 520 X-Ring chain installation difficulty
I'm having a heck of a time installing my new chain on my ATC. I'm not able to get the slide plate to compress far enough to attach the clip on the masterlink.
Even with the masterlink removed from the chain, the slide plate will only fit in the link just a bit, before stopping. I cannot get the slide plate on enough to get the clip on...again, this is with the master off the chain!
I have an extra master and side plate and I still have this problem. Is this something unique to the X ring chain?

It worked perfectly. I picked it up Thursday after work and had the DID slide plate on before dinner. It litterally took about 3 minutes to get the new slide on. It took longer to position the press on the chain than it did to press the plate on.
Lesson learned: Get the correct tool(s) beforehand. $12 was a cheap price to pay to avoid that agrivation. I wish I had the press when I first tried to install the side plate.

I got the part from my local Honda dealer. They're also a dealer for MotionPro.

Scroll down a bit to the picture of the red chain. The mini press is the one on the right of the photo.
