Lift Kits - What's Involved?
I'm thinking about a 2" lift for my AC, but I was wondering what else, other than the kit, is required to ensure trouble-free operation.
It seems like lifting would mess up axle geometry. Basically, what I'm asking is, if installing a 2" lift kit, do I need to add anything else to keep from screwing something up? |
Lift Kits - What's Involved?
because the cat is already tall and the axles are angled kinda steep, usually on any other brand a 2" lift would be fine alone. Im thinking though that new axles would be better or have your old ones sent off and rebuilt to with stand the pressure/angle of the lift.(gorilla axle does this). You may get away with it though. im assuming larger tires are going on as well? i see you have 26" zillas on it now. I have 28" swamplites on my 700 with no lift and they fit perfect. Plus The bike may look kinda funny with a lift and smaller tires. Then again, it may look bad ass! Well im not tellin you what to do im just sayin what i would do if i was getting a lift, which i had thought about doing, but after really thinking about it, with the 28"s on it i am now at 14" gc and thats plenty for me. good luck!!
