i live in northeast ny and am interested in these bolt on track systems that are used in the snow. i have seached the web and called dealers but cannot seem to find any informationon them. if anyone out there knows a site or has info on them please contact me. i am interested in any commets about the product from anyone that has these.

Track systems are available from a couple of manufacturers. One is Tatou (e-tatou.com). No manufacturer of ATV has officially tested and approved them. I have used one and it works on the snow but it severely limits the use of an ATV. And is time consuming to fit and remove. It also applies alot of stress to the ATV.

I was thinking of using the atv as a groomer on small- 4 foot trails- if I could find the right track system/ I'm searching the web looking/ if you find something/ e-m me/ moxierollins@prexar.com if I find out more I'll post it/ I tried the tatou site and it didn't come up/ did find a dealer in Waterbobo, Maine Abbotts 207.247.5278/ maybe they could give you the number of the plant or the name of a dealer near you/ later/jim-bob

I know a guy who sells them, I believe he does the Tatou brand. Go to northcountryatv.com and click on "ride your atv on snow". The guys name is Ted Burns, he is a hell of a nice guy and I would recommend him to anybody. I havent personally tried the tracks, but Ted swears by them. He is located in Northern NH on the vermont border, so he might be within travelling distance for you. Check it out.

this aftermarket company also sells them. I don't know how big they are in the states, but do alot of bussiness up here in Canada. I think i'm getting a set this coming winter also.

I got the chance this Spring to ride a new Arctic Cat 400(with a power kit ) with the Lite-Foot track kit on it after we stopped at a dealers to get some parts. I saw it sitting in the back of the shop and asked the fella about it and he said "Hang-on" I'll get you the keys and you can take it for a ride. WoW!! Pretty impressive machine. I drove it all around his place as did my friend and was really impressed with it.Not for me as I have a sled but he uses it all year to cross swamps and haul firewood out of the woods where not even a tractor could go. He said he has taken it to a few atv pulls and wipes out all the competion because the traction is phenominal he said.Intially he said it takes about 4 hours to get all 4 drives on the wheels set-up and from then on its a 15 minute job to take them off, put the tires on and off you go. When you put them back on its just as simple as they are already set-up. The only thing I saw bad with them was the cost--$4500.Still neat if you have the bucks to spend!

Also look for one called mattracks. I saw it on ATV TV a while back. Drove it around on rocks and showed some stock factory footage. Does ATV TV do anything but bounce around on rocks? Not to slam ATV TV or DM but the rock crawling on ATV and 4x4 TV is, to paraphrase Casey Kasem, Ponderous man. Ponderous. F-ing Ponderous.
