I have a Yamaha R1 1000 cc FI engine that I want to install in my Raptor. Anyone done this or have ideas on frame mods?

ive pondered this myself.
1. make sure you know where all the electrical conections go
2. have someone that is talented make an exaust for you.
3. if you have to cut the tp of the frame off, make sure you brase it well. youdont want it bending out of shape
4. your going to need an in tank fuel pump
5. if the engine sits 2 high, your going to need a custom tank make
6. the raptor was wheelie happy with 35 hp. you wont be able to keep it off the grab bar with 180 hp, so get at least a 6inch+ swing arm
7. you going to eather have to find a 520 front sproket or a 530 rear sproket and chain
8. MAKE SURE THE SPROKETS LINE UP! i cannot stress that enough. if they dont line up it will be devistating
9. you may want to upgrade your brakes for safty resons
10. get a good helmut

im probibly missing things, but this may give you a good idea of what u'll need

ive seen a cbr900 in a 400ex frame, so it can be done, but make sure you get it good and solid onto the frame, thats alot more weight then the raptor was desighed for, also you may want to get some nice elkas or works to carry all that wieght, and the swingarm is essential, if all works out you will have once haulin a$$ dune machine on yur hands.

There are quite a few guys on here that have done these type of conversions...you need to pm DStroyer. He can help you out with this.
