Silver Lake Sand Dunes

eRap,
Check out Silver Lake Dunes Places to stay for a list of both motels and RV parks. The link is to www.oceana.net, the county website. When we go we usually hang at Jellystone. It's almost totally shaded, and it's a private park, so they don't tolerate any nonsense. Brand new in-ground pool last year. Walking distance to everything (Silver Point for Pizza, Sands Resturant, Craig's Cruiser's to blow money, etc.)

Thanks 95! I see that you are going to be there as well. I look forward to meeting you. Here is what my quad looks like - it will prob be the only one there like it. Look for me. My wife will be somewhere near by on our red Lakota. (probably behind me of course)
Can't wait now. I will be leaving Indy Friday evening around 4 or 5. See y'all there!!

The last few times we have just stayed at the State parks down the road. We have never had a problem and they are accually a little cheaper. They charge by the site, not by the person like the private joints. I think 2 tents per site max.
You can make ON-LINE reservations at the michigan state parks web site. It will tell you size and area of each site. We are going up June 28-30. I was told that I got the last site in the park for that weekend, it will be packed.

Trixterboy, you should be able to get a clamp on spark arrestor at Duneland. It is better to get the FMF Turbine Core when getting a silencer. It is less restrictive than the clamp on screen type. It is also quieter than the Power Core silencer.
I thought if it does not have the USFS approved stamp, they were just putting a stick in the exhaust to make sure it is not straight through.

Bought the clamp on cobra spark arrester for 20 bucks at MJ USA and they wanted 70 at duneland. OUCH! It worked good and I took it off when I got home and everything cleaned up great. They were looking at every thing coming through for spark arresters with their little sticks.Didn't see any problems with sound checks though. Later!
