Winchester Bay vs. St. Anthony's

Just wondering how St. Anthont's compares to Winchester Bay. Some friends and myself are thinking about taking alittle trip to Idaho. Trying to get an idea on how to set up the gearing.

Me and the wife just drove by there this past weekend and noticed 2 trucks parked out by the gate. I can tell people have been riding there because the trail that is along the road has been tore up pretty good.
Myself and Airaptor are looking at heading there this summer, providing we both are around. Im guessing its like 12 hours or something. Not sure though.
Winchester is in my opinion the best place to ride amongst the 4 dune areas in Oregon

I've been to both Winchester and St. Anthony and there is no comparison. St. Anthony has hills twice as big, and has 10 times the space to ride on. Plus there are no decibal laws. St. Anthony would be well worth the trip.

I have never been to Oregon, but Utah, Idaho I go often. Idaho is dune heaven. In fact I am thinking we should get a bout 5 or 6 cool duners to go in on one of the farm houses out in Rexburg like a time share. We can ride from the house to the dunes.
you gotta go. its the best.

yeah thats the coos bay dunes, and your rite, i like the SPinreel area to the south. Ive rode from Boxcar to spinreel, but if iwere to do it again, id like to do most of my riding at spinreel and work my way down. I seen a few nasty hillclimbs that drop off down to the water that id like to try.

Airraptor people ride there all the time. Haven't been there lately though. Alot of trucks there on the weekend. I haven't heard of them cracking down on it lately, but it is probly coming. Alot of people are tearing up the creek that runs under Hwy. 507. It will be a tree huggers call to arms. Let me know I'll show you the back way from my house. Two miles on pavement alittle ways on gravel then your there.

GotDirt,
Is it wise to park at that gate off the main road and go in from there? I havent been there for a while but i used to enjoy riding out there.
Airraptor you mean you finally going to try someplace other than Fort Lewis??
