Honestly a tractor is a better choice than either of them for clearing snow. That's what most people use around here.
I don't think I could afford a tractor for the $600 or so that I paid for my plow on my quad. I do want one but it's not happening right now.

Agreed, removable snow plow is more affordable.
The snow plows for ATV range from $844.00 to $1,144.00 depending on the size.

You can check the full list of ATV snow plows and look up your model here: SnowSport® - ATV Terrain Plow

Let me know if you need a quote!

for the last 5 years I have plowed my 410' of New Hampshire driveway with my 2001 Honda Rancher 350 next season we will see how the 08 Brute force 650 does. It would take me about a week to shovel a 4" snow storm praying the whole time we didn't get any more before I finished. My Rancher has been through a lot of hard work & keeps on ticking. Plowing, Mowing, driving over furniture hauling trees ect

I'm going to weigh in on this because I have a large driveway and I was using my Polaris Scrambler 400 to plow it with using a Cycle country 48" plow with the electric plow lift. So...definitely not the best ATV to plow with, but on most occasions it got the job done. When snow falls exceeded 12"...things got tough and I struggled. Last winter I switched to a 6' Fisher plow on my Tahoe. Needless to say the Tahoe plows significantly easier than the ATV, but one must think of $$$ in this comparison. A truck plow is significantly more expensive than an ATV plow, all in...so, with some of the larger, heavier ATVs out there...plowing should be very doable, but if $$$ are not an issue...go the truck plow route...

I would ad it is also warmer in the Tahoe & I contemplated getting a plow for my Avalanche but it is also cheaper plowing with the ATV

In the case of a lot of people, they might not want to use their truck for such a task. Plowing does a lot of wear and tear. Most would rather put that wear and tear on a quad than a truck that costs a lot more.

Agreed...I have 2 Tahoes...my 2001 with 215,000 miles is now my plow truck, my newer 2010 is my daily driver...once again, it's almost always about $$$

Can't disagree with that, we actually have a pretty wide choice of snow plows for trucks. It's the middle of the summer, not a good time for a snow plow but we can work on some good discount in case you're interested.

You can always look for a old beater truck and snow plow combo. We had a old 78 ford with a plow that we picked up for $500. That thing would run off what ever you put in the gas tank..lol.. Fuel, diesel, oil, water... you name it and it would still run
