I'm looking at upgrading my son's ride from a 300EX to either a 400EX or KFX400. I have always been a Honda owner and think they are bullet proof, but can possibly get a great deal on a KFX400. Let the comments begin. Thanks

 

You really can't go wrong with either one. A good price on either would have me buying that model. A little less maintenance with the ex, but a little more zip with the kfx. Tons of aftermarket parts for both, if wants to get a little more speed and power out of either later.

What year model is the kfx?

 

The KFX is an 04 for $2500 ( I think I can get it for less ) The EX is an 02 for $1900. and has some add on's

 

Honestly, I'd probably go with the ex for those prices. Of course, not being able to look at them, I'm just going on the fact I'm cheap, and it already has some stuff added.

 

The KFX is at a car dealer that took it in as part of a down payment and have been trying to sell for some time. I'm going to look at it today and if it looks goo was going to offer them 1500. if not then walk away

 

Well, it's worth a shot. If they've had it that long, they need to move it.

 

If you can get the kfx for $1500 take it and run away before they call the cops.....lol....that is a steal even if it is remotely nice.

 

Yea, 1st they wanted 3000. obo then they dropped it to 2500. obo Is there anything I should look out for ? I have always bought new, but those days are over for me. ( for awhile anyway )

 

SCOTTERGPX, What do you mean by a little less maintence on the EX / more maintence on the KFX ?

 

The kfx is water cooled, so that's one more thing to keep an eye on. Valve adjustment on the ex is a little easier. Not really major things, but just things to consider.
