buying new atv for 9 yr old ..which one??
well i know these questions are annoying but, i have a raptor 660, and now the 9 year old is into it hard....did the mistake of buying a made in china special, and it lasted 8 months before i threw it in the trash....im looking into a 90cc, but dont want to deal with bullshit.....i see alot of polaris models which scares me, and from what i read i can understand why...so which one is the better bang for my buck?? without going broke?

My son this year (he was 8) moved up from a 110cc chinese machine to a Suzuki LT80. Hes pretty good sized but this machine is perfect for him.....and I can see him riding it for a couple more years atleast.....but they stopped making them in 2006.....so if it has to be new Ive got nothing.
If you dont mind a slightly older machine I think you can do well buying a LT80. You can pick up a good used one for under $1000 easily......leaves you money for some mods. My sons has the FMF pipe, UNI filter, Boysen Power Reeds and a few other little farkles......runs pretty fair. Ive got a 1994 Honda Fourtrax and hes right on my *** until I get into 5th......hes all over me in 1st thru 4th.
Just depends on what kind of riding your doing to....and maybe you dont want a 2 stroke.....
I havent really looked at the newer youth quads, maybe I ought to take a look.

I do remember being impressed with the Arctic Cat 90 DVX. One thing that I thought was cool is they put REAL headlights on these things.....which the big 4 dont do. They have clear plastic up front that looks like a headlight....buts its not. Me and my kids ride around often at low light or in the dark....granted my sons LT80 didnt have a headlight until I mounted one up (along with a tail light) but if I was paying $2500 for a quad I would expect it to be equipped properly.
