At the very least we should send them Johnny Depp so he can show them how to dress like pirates.

Wasn't it Johnny Depp that launched a boat down in New Orleans to "help" out people stranded on roofs? And, didn't remember to put the boat plug in, so they had to turn around. Maybe we should send him over to Somalia with the same boat and he can help out the pirates. (No boat plugs incuded though.)

 

hehe- I've done that. first time I borrowed my fil's 25' wellcraft I didn't remember to check the plug- I was rushing to back the 30'+ trailer down the ramp while everyone else with a boat was waiting for me to get the hell out of the way- I actually got a good few miles into the atlantic before the bilge alarm started buzzing- I had to jump in damn northern atlantic water is frigid in may!

 

I did it once with our 14' aluminum boat up in VT. Realized it pretty quick. Didn't have to jump out.

 

Why should anyone have rules of engagement against pirates? Terrorists of the sea. I see no repercussions.

 

Life for them may not be so grand - Somalis tend to be short and skinny - perfect size for other prisoners looking for a "wife"....

I don't get it, why this hasn't been dealt with long ago.... we have satellites that can read your license plate on your car from space, but we can't find the base ships the pirates operate out of, send a cruise missle from 1000 miles away, boom, problem solved in minutes, all pirates are given notice, your ship is out on the water, it disappears, pretty simple if you ask me. But then, I'm not a big, important, intelligent politician or navy commander, they MUST know better, they are the experts, after all.......

 

I'm sure it's not the Navy commanders who are calling the shots as far as rules of engagement goes. It probably comes all the way down from the very top, our heralded military leader and genius, Commander in Chief, Barrack Hussein Obama.
