Once Upon A Honda
#1
A short intro.....
You get to know certain individuals fairly well when you ride with them on a regular basis.
For example... their favorite quad brand, what they like for lunch, etc...
I read this out at our Christmas Ride and Social Pot Luck Dinner.
Enjoy.
Once Upon A Honda
My owner is a burly man with a smile that’s big and broad
Bright Red is my body’s colour that’s what on this Honda Quad.
My racks are full of tools, and Davis Quick Fist Clamps.
A rebuilt trailer to ride in, supplied with very short ramps.
My riders an ambitious fellow, who’s very lively and quick.
But to my disappointment, he’s definitely not Saint Nick.
On one of my first outings down the road, an Elk came across my trail.
A friend that was riding right behind, rear-ended me on my tail.
My rider was thrown to the ground after the hard impact.
And I ended up with an empty seat and very bent rear rack.
After fixing me up, two boxes were attached, one on each rear side.
So now when you look at me you’d say I’m certainly much too wide.
On Cow Pass trail through the narrow trees I definitely would not fit.
And my rather calm and mellow rider, ended up in a virtual snit.
Off the trail and through the pond, the bypass would be sweet.
But my rider fell off in to the swamp, and now has two wet feet.
So after more wrenching to make me narrow, it’s one rear box for me.
And now I fit all through the trees, that’s clearly plain to see.
When you’re riding on me be cautious, and always look around.
Because if you hit that stump out back, I’ll throw you to the ground.
I am very reliable, and durable. I don’t need to boast.
Towing home a broke down 850 Polaris is what I enjoy the most.
When my tires are worn and I’m stuck, and my rider’s turning Blue.
New Bear Claws will be mounted, they’ll certainly get us through.
My rider loves a good pun or quip, that’s what I’ve been told.
But what I’m hearing from him these past few years, is getting rather old.
For breakfast he eats eggs or waffles, occasionally he has cereal.
But as for his jokes, I pray to God that he gets some new material.
If you’re visiting his place and invited for lunch, don’t be surprised to see.
Placed in front of you a rather large bowl of Randy’s special KD.
My rider’s is always trail building, with his chainsaw sharp and set.
If you plan to come and lend assistance, be prepared to sweat.
Mesachie Lake is the place I stay and the 19 Creek ride has it all.
If you want to come and join in the fun, just pick up the phone and call.
If you listen closely to the burly man on my seat, I’m sure that you’ll hear him say.
The only brand that I will ride is an H.O.N.D.A.
When my owner and I are riding together and you can hear the laughter.
You’ll know were both in that place we love, Quadding Happily Ever After.
