Thought id start a thread about stupid mistakes, everybody has made the with their ATV at one time or another, so post em up! one time i was doing a valve lash adjustment and soaking valves, and when i was done i set my rag on the muffler pipe. the next day i went out to start it up and let it run and it started smoking, bad. i was all mad because i though i ruined my valve seals or something. when I went to take the rag off it burst into flames haha. no more smoke

 

I don't think it's a mistake, but riding my 400ex too much? Before the bearings went bad that was all I did haha and it's all I think about. Keeps me distracted from everything else, all I wanna do is ride! Probably a mistake because if I hadn't rode it so much the bearings wouldn't have wore out so fast! But, they are 11 years old so hopefully the new ones go another 11!

I ran from the cops on it once, was riding back from the store (it's legal to ride on the streets here) but came around a corner too fast and slid sideways in a drift and there was a sheriff coming in the other lane! I booked it home as fast as I could haha, he didn't even really have time to turn around because when I crested the top of the hill I laid on it hard.

 

I have turned the rims around in order to get a wider stances while i was waiting for the wheel spacers to come in. The rim lost 3 of the 4 lug nuts. I realized it when i hit 50 and it started to lose control.
