Default Best atv for girlfriend. Help please

Hello everyone! Im new to this site but I have recently decided to get back into riding and to purchase another atv for myself, looking at an 06 predator 500, and my significant other would like to enjoy the experience with me. She hasn't rode an atv before but has no problem with learning how to shift. She's 5' 2", 100lbs. Need some recommendations on a good starter quad for her. I was thinking a 250 of some sort. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks ahead of time guys.

If she's interested in a manual, hard to beat a 300ex or Raptor 250. Otherwise a 250ex might be good.

Suzuki Z250 would be a good choice as well, similar in size and semi-auto foot shift like the 250 ex. If she is comfortable with a full manual clutch, a Warrior 350 or the newer Raptor 350 would be good too. It depends on how much money you have to spend. A used 250ex will probably be the least expensive and I think she will still have a lot of fun on it. I just looked on my local craigslist and there are a couple 250ex for around $1000. Some for a bit more but for around $1000-$1200 you can get a 250ex that runs well and is ready to ride.

Thanks for the advice. Looked up a few 250ex on criagslist and she liked what she saw. Appreciate it. Made my life way easier.

Leaning toward 250ex. Asked a couple of my buddies also. Seems to be the right choice. Thanks for your time.

Cool, hope you can find a good deal. They're very reliable machines so as long as the previous owner did a decent job on the maintenace, you should get years of fun out of one. For a smaller rider like your gf, the fit should be spot on. It will feel much more peppy with a lighter rider as well, weight makes a big difference on smaller quads like a 250ex. The semi-auto foot shift makes it more fun than if it were a cvt auto but easier to deal with than a full manual clutch.

Kawasaki 220 or later 250 are good beginner options too.

If she wanted an auto, something like an older Polaris Scrambler has a lot more power and costs less.

But then he'd need a tow rope....

The Mongoose has plenty of power and is a rock solid machine. After 2- 12 hour races, a few MX nationals, a few cross country races, and countless hours of trail riding, I'm convinced.
