Default WIDE ATV or RTV needed

Trying to come up with a vehicle with a 6 ft width and 2 ft center clearance to use for spraying. Sprayer equipment (loaded) would weigh 200 lbs +-. Top Speed is not an issue, (needs to be able to run a constant 5 mph +-) . Have looked at converting some different machines, any suggestions.

ATV's are typically around 50" wide or less to get down narrow trails. UTV's are around 60" wide. Even the "mud specific" Outlander MR, AC Mud Pro with 30" tires only have ground clearance of 13-15". Too bad, as my Arctic Cat Diesel would be a great farm machine. It has high ground clearance, maybe 13" and is quite wide, around 50", but not 72", even with wheel spacers. I think you need to look at a small farm tractor. My dad has a 1957 Massey Harris Pony tractor, my brother has an IH Farmall Cub. They are sweet little tractors, might fit your parameters. Brother uses his Cub to spray. Both of those tractors have the sweetest running little 4 cylinder motors. Here's a picture of my Arctic Cat Diesel 700 Super Duty, it's awesome! Plows snow with a 6' plow like a Jeep, nothing stops it, also can drive on the highway at 45 mph.

Like your machine. For my application I need the four wheel drive capabilities. Need to straddle bedded land. The beds have a profile of 6.5 ft wide and aprox. 1.75 ft high. Some of the areas are quite wet and there is logging debris on site.

I don't see any way an ATV or UTV would work for you unless you split it down the middle and welded a bunch of steel into the frame to make it wider. You'd have to customize the suspension and put taller wheels on it like a tractor. You might be better off making something from scratch or modifying a tractor.

May just have to break down and source yourself a purpose built 4x4 sprayer. They are built and out their.

To get something that wide you'll prob need a small tractor or compact 4x4 truck

Thanks for the replies, I was hoping there was something out there I was not aware of.

I measured my AC Diesel. With a 1 " lift and 30" Mudzillas it has 14" of ground clearance and is about 50" wide. You could probably get by with 6" custom wheel spacers, you could get 62" width OA. Too bad that you couldn't make it work. A pick up truck will have less ground clearance, except a Unimog, or maybe a Pingauzer. Given the rough terrain, I'm not sure that even commercial sprayers will work. Even small farm tractors won't be 6' wide.

Most of this work is either with backpacks or log skidders. I have done some in the past with 85 hp 4wd ag tractors. (get stuck to much) I'm trying to come up with something that will be easier (cheaper) to move and to operate. Skidders work fine but are way, way, over kill and expensive to move.
An ATV,UTV with a 6 ft/7ft width and 2 feet of clearance would be the ticket.

Tractors have so much more ground clearance than atvs. To get 2 feet of ground clearance on an atv or or utv would require a lot of lift and huge tires. You can make a utv that wide by putting aftermarket long travel suspension system on it. Again a lot of fabrication work and cost. Basically a tractor will be the best and cheapest solution.
