My 2007 Honda Recon TRX 250 ES is running great with only one annoying problem. It will shift into 1st gear just fine. Getting from first to second requires me to almost be at idle speed before it will shift. Once in 2nd, all other gears shift fine. The 1st gear light is also out.

First gear seems to be the only problem. No blinking lights, no getting stuck in other gears, etc. I've had several Recons and this is the first time I've had this problem. From what I've seen online, the angle sensor and shift motor are the two likely culprits. Before I start swapping parts, any suggestions? THANKS!
