Trailerable atv cover for my 2019 0utlander XT 650

Hello all,
Who makes a good trailerable ATV cover that I can get online.

Steve

Searched 2 yrs back and found nothing worthwhile. Even looked into custom made cover, very doable but costly to get a really good one and then the weight. A good cover that withstands the elements and is waterproof and hold up to wind weighs almost 250 lbs or more for a real HD one. Ended up getting an enclosed trailer, no regrets!

a cover that weighs 250lbs?

Yes if you want one that will stand up to the elements. Had a couple made for my atvs, made from material that semi covers are made from. Each one was almost 75 lbs but never leaked, snow didnt bother them, wind and driving sown highway never caused them to flap and fray. Still look like new 10 yrs later. Had them quote me a cover for my SxS but estimated at was almost 250 lbs, to heavy to throw up over the machine. All the rest of the covers out there are only good for a couple yrs at best and rain and driving makes them wear quick.

That's ridiculous... a 250lbs fabric cover.
I can make a box that'll cover it that weighs less.

i would say a OEm cover from can am would be your best bet.. I see them all the time up here

There are many light weight covers on the market if you just want to cover your machine. I believe the original poster was looking for a durable cover to trailer with. I have owned a number of trailerable covers over many years and all of them were junk within a few years. Hiway driving will shred a cover quite quickly even with tie down straps. Most over the counter covers are made from cloth material with a water resistant coating that does not last long. Just look at boat covers, they only last a few years at best and less if trailered. Get into a high quality custom made cover like semi truck drivers use and they last for a really long time. After going thru numerous atv covers, I had a semi tarp maker, make me atv covers. After 10 years they still look like new. Not shredded by wind at hiway speeds and never leaked! But they are heavy because they are a heavy canvass cloth with a heavy vinyl coating and are built to withstand the elements unlike the fabric cheap covers on the market. So called good covers will cost well over 100 bucks, my covers were about 200 plus for each one, but after 10 yrs I still have them and they still look like new. Fabric covers would be long gone. Now I have a side x side and wanted a durable cover for that. However the weight of a cover that big is more than I could handle on my own. However, it would be a superior cover in quality and life expectancy than any over the counter cover you could ever buy, no matter hose name was on it. Most of those types of covers are for dust and debris, not made for trailering!

I don't know how long they will last but you can get a Can-Am trailering cover for $194.99. The only thing I ever had a trailering cover for was a snowmobile and when I used it for storage and trailering it got sun-rotted and torn up. Maybe one cover for storage and another for trailering would have solved that. But with my ATVs I've always trailered them with no cover and gotten several years use from my storage covers that cost just a fraction of what a trailering cover costs.

I agree with suggestion on the Can Am covers. They should be fitted to the dimensions of the machine, or very close to a custom fit. Generic covers would be much cheaper but if not fitted could flap in the wind and cause scratches and marring.
