Racing RUV's

Greetings!
My brother-in-law and I are in a mad search for ways to race side by sides. I understand that there are a couple different styles of racing that are currently out, including desert and Baja. However, these are not what we have in mind. I seen a $40,000 Baja RZR for sale the other day and do not want, nor have the bankroll for, this kind of racing. Additionally, I don't have a lot of wide open deserts to race across up here in Michigan You see, we are looking for more of a Alaskan Iditarod style of start a point A and go to point B across trails, woods, mud, and hills without a specific path. This seems to be a more interesting and exciting form of racing that would be suited for a side by side machine. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you have any ideas, information, I-heard-of-that-once's, please post em! If this sounds like a big ball of fun, post here to. If you think it's a great idea, and have access to a few hundred miles of land, post here.
Thanks all in advance for the help.

The WORCS series (World Off Road Championship Series) has a Rhino class. I'll be racing the next round on September 8th, but it is in Monticello, UT. That doesn't help you much in Michingan though. GNCC is back east, I wonder if they have a side by side class?
