Anyone out there have a Ranger? I looked at one the other day and really liked it.

Would come in handy on the farm and make a great hunting rig. Plenty of room to haul the decoys and such.

Thanks

So, nobody out there owns a Ranger 6x6. Maybe I'll go look at the Kawasaki Mules and compare them

Lyndal, my father owns a 1998 Kawasaki Mule 2500 2wd. Its a nice machine, very quiet, torquey, and comfortable. My only complaint is that I would like it to go faster, it's top speed is 25 MPH but thats probably fast enough for this kind of vehicle. If I was to get one I'd definitely get the 4wd version, I've gotten my father's stuck plenty of times and they aren't fun to get out, especially when you're alone. But 2wd vs. 4wd is all a matter of riding style, if you're going to be doing casual riding than 2wd would be fine. For 2000 Kawasaki has come out with a Mule 2500 4wd with a diesel motor, I'd love to take that for a spin, that would be the ultimate beast!
As far as the Polaris Ranger goes, its a very nice machine but it is very expensive and underpowered compared to the mule. The Mule 2500 features a 600cc liquid cooled twin cylinder motor, where as the Ranger only has a 500cc liquid cooled single cylinder motor. The Mule is also approximately $4000 less than the Ranger. Either way you should be happpy.

Mitch, I did notice the engine size on the ranger. I still have to go to a Kawasaki dealer that sells Mules and check them out.

Thanks for you comments.

I have driven the Ranger. It has plenty of power & have had it in some nasty mudit preformed well. I did get around 50mph top end.
