Default rifle stock where to buy

Hello all. Well after years of getting beaten up by mag rifles that where never needed. I have went to a 25.06 and I love it. Very light recoil and shells are cheap enough that I can shoot when I want. I killed a decent 4 point this year with it and it went down and was just as dead as any deer I have ever killed. Sorry about the rant but I do like the 25.06 for white tails. Anyway The rifle I have is the Ruger Hawkeye it is S.S. with the black stock. I like this rifle but really wish it had a wood stock either a solid or composit stock. I just think rifles look better with wood. So does anyone know of a good place to order a stock for this rifle? Also when you order a stock is it like a drop in or will I need to fit it to the action and finish it? Thanks for the help. C/P

Not sure if they will have what you are looking for but you could give MidwayUSA — Shooting Supplies, Reloading, Gunsmithing, Hunting, Ammunition, Gun Parts & Rifle Scopes

Don't think you are going to find anything but a high $ custom wood stock for a Hawkeye. Looks like everything is going plastic now. They do have advantages. Lighter in weight, and the rifle doesn't change point of impact because of the slight warping in wood due to temp. and humidity.

Check ebay, guns america, cheaper than dirt for sale boards etc. I'd almost bet that someone out there has a wood ruger hawkeye stock they've taken off to put on a synthetic.
