My primary is a Remington 700 in 7mm mag with a Nikon primos 3x9x40 with bdc reticule, but I've killed the most deer with an old SKS (roughly equivalent to 30-30).

I know I don't NEED a 7mm for eastern whitetail but I got it for a song.

I have a model 70 with a Hart matchgrade barrel,chambered 300 Weatherby
All with boss system, and synthetic stocks ( Mc Millan) topped with 6X24X50
Swarovski glass. Both triggers or set at 2.75 #s and my revolver is a 10-5 inch barreled Ruger Blackhawk 44 mag. I shoot Weatherby factory ammo (norma) 100 gr. 257, and 150 gr. in the 300. The 300 model 70 is a "Laredo". I hunt in central-south Alabama. Most of our hunting is done in January over cut-over timber, when the rut is in full swing.

About 20 to 25 years ago I started using handguns, never went back to a rifle.

Not sure how many handguns I have but they range from .22 LR to .500WE. Most are Freedom Arms. Taken quite a few critters ranging from squirrels to Bison.

Remington Model 770 with camo synthetic stock and blued barrel in .30/06 topped with a Simmons scope. Use Winchester Super X 165 grain jacketed. This is for stand hunting where I need some reach. Marlin 1894 lever action in .44 magnum. Use Hornady XTP 240 grain jacketed. Brush gun for drives and still hunting. Most shots in New England are within 50 yards from my limited experience. Has a Tasco on it which is fine for 150 yards on down.
