I deny any claim of ownership of any firearm I might or might not have purchased ammo for.
However........I wouldn't recommend breaking into my castle. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/atvconn...99d22d2230.gif |

In the, "How stupid are you?", file. Was out with Mrs. Moose looking at land and homes in NH. Realtor opened the garage for us to look at. While they looked around in the loft space, I noticed a Beretta 92 hanging on nail with the trigger cocked. Looked around more an there was a revolver and several rifles around. Not too bright. Garage doors had windows and entry door to garage had windows too. Owner wasn't around while we were looking around either. Not just the theft issue. A safety issue too. What if we had little kids??? Be safe everyone.

I often say, human stupidity knows no limit. I just found this online.
The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity were first outlined by Carlo M. Cipolla, Professor Emeritus of Economic History at Berkeley, in an essay called The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity. D'oh! Zeroth Law There is no upper bound on the amount of stupidity that can exist within any particular individual. First Law We always underestimate the number of stupid people. Not as obvious as it sounds, because: 1. people we had thought to be rational and intelligent suddenly turn out to be unquestionably stupid; 2. day after day we are hampered in whatever we do by stupid people who invariably turn up in the least appropriate places, and 3. the underestimation is after the first law itself is already accounted for. Second Law The probability of a person being stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person. Third (and Golden) Law A stupid person is someone who causes damage to another person, or a group of people, without any advantage accruing to himself (or herself) — or even with some resultant self-damage. Fourth Law Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid people. They constantly forget that at any moment, and in any circumstance, associating with stupid people invariably constitutes an expensive mistake. Fifth Law A stupid person is the most dangerous person in existence. Prof. Cipolla adds a corollary to the fifth law: a stupid person is thus more dangerous than a bandit. |

Some day there might be a chance that they're not. And that's why I carry. ;) |

Got a new one yesterday. :D

That's a good looking CZ. It's half a pound lighter than a CZ 75 and only 1 round less capacity. I like that combination.
|
I have no idea what my next gun will be.
Pretty sure it will be another S&W. https://s33.postimg.cc/li710ny9r/IMG_2934.jpg I am seriously considering this post-war (1946-1949) .38-44 Heavy Duty, Hamilton Bowen 45HD conversion fitted with Patrick Grashorn stocks. |
That's something I never heard of before, but I like the idea of a double-action .45 Colt a bit lighter than a Redhawk. Look at this beauty. + Bowen Classic Arms + Workshop

I have a 75BD that I sent off to Cajun Gun Works. Much better trigger than the original. The new one is way better with the Omega system. Didn't realize the sights glow in the dark. My 75 had the trijicon sites put in by the guy I bought it from. They are much brighter. |

Mine too. If you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it.
And don't believe anyone's wife when she says what we paid for it. |
I picked up a couple hand guns today.
https://s8.postimg.cc/avnr9c8zp/IMG_2130.jpg This S&W 686. The trigger had been worked over. Its about a 2 lb pull. I can't wait to shoot it. :D https://s8.postimg.cc/6nsz0qcqt/IMG_2128.jpg a S&W M&P .45 This one's never been fired and might never get fired. I like how it fits my hand. :D https://s8.postimg.cc/jgh30lymd/IMG_2125.jpg And this exceptionally nice 1951 K-22 Masterpiece 22. Its been shot very little and I'm giving it to one of my daughters. |
Specta, what caliber is the 686. I have a 629 in .44 magnum with a ported barrel and 2-3 lb. trigger. If you have the hammer cocked you have to be very careful as it seems like a slight brush will make it shoot. Thankfully I remembered about always pointing the gun downrange..... I'm sure Moose One would love to fill you in on the hair trigger shooting in VT when we get out there.
|
The 686 is .357 Mag with target sights.
The trigger is one of the reasons I picked this one. I love it. :D This makes my 4th .357 and my 3rd 45 auto. |
3 more good ones in calibers I like. The M&P .45 is my favorite. It's the most practical for my use.

My Colt 1911 has never been fired either and I'm looking at a Remington Rand government 1911 45 auto made during WWII that's never been fired either. I guess I need to keep looking for a 1911 that I can shoot. :D |
Remington Rand 1911A1s were only made from 1942 to 1945, and we were still using them in the '80s when I was in the army. Every one of them was about 40 years old, but they took a licking and kept on ticking like a Timex*. There's no telling how many thousands of rounds went through them over the decades. And I've never seen one that hasn't been fired.
* Old farts will get this. |

Its not a virgin like I thought I remembered. Still pretty nice. My friend valued it at $2000. I might still take it. We'll see. |

I put the original stocks back on my new to me 686 after I cleaned it up. It has a raised Partridge front sight and a Whipple rear sight. I was told this gun was modified by S&W and my brother (Whipple site) for serious competition shooting. |
Nice firearm, Specta. Love the S&W revolvers.
|
I'm familiar with Patridge sights, named after pistol shooter E. E. Patridge who invented them, but I don't think I've ever heard of Whipple sights. When I tried looking them up I didn't find anything on them. Any info?

I have friends that have Millet and Whipple. I just got confused. LOL |
Okay. I know about Millet sights, but the only Whipple I heard of was always squeezing the Charmin.

I like .357s. I have 2 of them. A 640 and a 28-2http://gshort.click/isna/2/o.png

I used to have Dan Wesson .357 Magnum. It was a really nice gun but the 8" barrel was too long, so I put a 4" barrel and a muzzle brake on it. But I never shot it after that. I miss that gun and wish I could get it back. The good news is I can use any leftover .38 Special and .357 Magnum ammo in the .357 Maximum barrel on my Contender.
