ahhh it must be hard accepting that Honda's best were made years and years ago and they still beat the competitors newest crap. nothing makes me smile more than beating somebody that paid 500% more than I did on my ride.

1 honda
2 yamaha (seems to have their marketing stragedies right with some small mix up's here and there)
3 everybody else

Default Top 5 sport atv companies??

sport atv is the question so here:
1. Yamaha (no ifs ands or buts about it I don't have one I don't care look at there lineup awesome)

2. Kawasaki
3. bombadier (they have possibly the best individual one, I don't know it's close)

4. honda (they have ex's out the butte and great reliability)
5. suzuki (they did invent it but they got away from them for to long they have a great one though and the 250
5. polaris (I tie polaris and suzuki although polaris has the scrambler so that might beat suzuki's two sports along with the pred.)

Someone mentioned cannondale and I might give them no 1 but they are no longer with us so I won't rate them. I don't see how any sane person can't go with yamaha for sheer choices. The fastest production quad, possibly the best track bike, and one, if not the best trail sport quad. Along with the entry level sports. Heck they have two different two-strokes. If I knew diddly about gasgas I might have rated them somewhere.

Yamaha, without a doubt. Always have had a sport quad (or more) available appealing to every category of rider. They have never ditched out on sport quads, still offer 2-strokes, and have the largest most versatile sport lineup there is. From the entry level blaster to the 4wd Wolverine, they have every base covered. This would still be be the top sport ATV company even without the 450 coming.

Whoever said Honda just replied because its in this forum (though this was posted in other forums too). Honda's only claim to this question is the 400ex which makes it dead last in this dept (other than Arctic Cat whose only bike isn't out yet). If they said greatest bike of all time, Honda has some stake, but the 250R is in the past. You've got a 250,300, or 400ex to choose from and thats it.

Yamaha offers- YZF450, Raptor, Banshee, Warrior, Blaster, Wolverine = 6 Sport

Polaris offers- Predator, Scrambler, Trailblazer 250 & 400 = 4 Sport

Honda Offers- 400ex, 300ex, 250ex = 3 Sport

Bombardier offers- DS650 & Baja= 2 Sport

Kawasaki offers- VForce 700, KFX400 = 2 Sport

Suzuki offers- Z400, Z250 = 2 Sport

Arctic Cat will offer- 400 DVX = 1 Sport

Now granted that the Predator is a work of art, the 400ex handles great (though its engine is limited), the V-Force and 650 Bombs flat out rock, and the trio of Suzuki powered 400's are better than Honda's best available ride, I think its pretty clear that Yamaha takes the cake on this question. Probably the best sport made in the new 450, the legendary 2 stroke twin in the banshee, the most popular sport quad over the past 2 years in the Raptor, and everything you need to fill in the cracks below with the rest of the lineup. I would have to say that Yamaha has taken care to keep something somewhat sporty available ever since the beginning.
