Holeshot XCT's for 400ex
#2
i have a 95' 300ex with mods. I run xct front and rear, and i only run tight and open trails ..very rough. Let me tell you..they will NEVER pop or split. they are thicker than any tire ever made. I have hit rocks that would split a stocer in half, and not even dent the tire or cut it. Buy them! They bite awesome also, very awesome, you can slide very percisly with the throttle with the rear.

Santa,
I also have the 22" XCT's on the rear of my 400ex, and plan on buying XCT's for the front. The XCT tires hook up/hold up extemely well on most surfaces. I ride in the desert on a variety of terrain from very rocky hardpack, gravel creek beds, to small sand dunes. They handle the hardpack, sharp rocks and the loose sand very well. Haven't tried them in wet or muddy conditions (wish I could). I changed my gearing from the stock 15/38 to 14/39 to accomodate the larger 22" tires. I did notice a loss of low end power (in each gear)with the XCT's and the stock gearing. The 14/39 gear ratio makes up for the larger tires and is very close to the stock gear ratio(s). Another LARGE benefit is that the tires will give you about another inch of clearance under your swingarm. When I rode with the stock tires it sounded like I was dragging a garbage can lid under my swingarm due to hitting rocks. The taller XCT's (and a PRM swingarm guard) cured that for the most part. The XCT on a Douglas 190's seems to weigh about 5 times more than the stock Honda rim and tire. I couldn't believe how light the stock stuff was when I compared it to the XCT's. I'm sold on them. My buddy is buying a set of 22" Razor's for the back of his bike. It will be intersting to compare them.
