Honda's Response to the Yamaha Raptor
#13
Why do they need a 650cc something? I took all the warning signs and stickers off my Recon and it flies! I have yet to meet a Grizzly or a Scrambler out there that I couldn't smoke. 'Course I have yet to meet any of those except on the showroom floor but I'm sure I could.
And this ugly Raptor thing (looks more like a roach)--Recon food for sure.

Gooch,
No way is a recon going to smoke hardly anything. No way are you beating a Scrambl;er unless the SC is completely wore out.
I dont believe Honda will do anything either. They seem content to sit in 3rd or 4th place in all categories for some reason, with little regard to what the customer wants. Dont get me wrong, Honda produces the highest quality products, but they do still seem scared to take the lead again in the sport ATV field again. Too bad..
At least we now have 5-6 high performance quads to choose from, the good times are here again!!!

BRING BACK THE 250R WITH UPDATED (I.E. AFTERMARKET SHOCKS) AND A POWERVALVE ENGINE. I AM GOING TO LOOK FOR A USED ONE UNTIL THEY DO.
CAN HONDA NOT SEE THIS FACT THAT IF YOU LOOK AT THE LINEUP AT MOST MAJOR RACES YOU WILL LOADS OF 250R'S? IF THEY WOULD JUST PRODUCE THE OLD ONES AGAIN I WOULD BUY ONE RIGHT OFF THE SHOWROOM EVEN IF WAS THE EXACT MODEL AS THE 86-89 WITHOUT ANY CHANGES.

RoostKing--
Just an attempt at humor--I care little about pure speed. Our Hondas seem quite fast enough for us (me anyway) for the trail riding and exploring we do. But my son definitely took notice of a Banshee on the dunes a few weeks ago and it was his itchy thumb that top-ended the Rancher the first time, so I can see something with flashier plastic in the future.

Gooch,
I reread your post and kinda thought thats what you wre aiming at.. I won a banshee and it is a definite thrill ride!! What type of riding do you and your son do? I ask 'cause the Banshee is not the best trail machine, but if your on the dunes or fire roads, the Banshee cant be matched!

I really think that Honda as well as all the other manufacturers will come out with something new in the next three years. Now that things are getting exciting in the sport all of them will want a share in the marketplace. Hopefully no bozos will try to sue the companies for making unsafe vehicles like they did in the 80's. I don't think they will make two stroke proformance bikes anymore. This whole thing is like sport bikes (crotch rockets). Every year someone come out with something that rules over the older models then the others come back with the new super duper model. Sorry to say it but Suzuki seems to be falling to the dust bin. They haven't made a new sport bike in many years. The ship has left the dock.... lets see who jumps on before it's too late.
