Difference between 03, and 04 400EX's?
 

I just got a 03 400EX, and i just wanted to know if it was worth 200 bucks to get the 04... I bought it impulsivly, however, i wouldnt have bought a z/kfx over it any day. i hate cows and suzukis... IMO, but if any one knows the difference between the 03 and the 04 lemme know. thanks.

The difference is the bigger carb...this creates more horsepower and more speed.

But how much? peanuts or boat loads? My guess is 1 hp . If it had 5 to 10 more then the 450 probalbly wouldnt have come out.

I would imagine it wouldn't be a lot but probably noticable. Maybe 3hp tops but that's just a guess. Sorry to say, but ya I think it would have been worth your 200 bucks. However, you have a great bike and can probably make it faster than the 04 with some simple mods.

For around $130, you can send your stock carb to Sparks and they'll bore it out.

the 04 ex has a 38mm carb it was definitely worth the 200 bucks

i think that 38mm carb is a misprint on honda's website. that is what i have been told anyways.
