My good friend and riding buddy says his Rubie gets 19-20 mpg. Not a lot for a small tank of gas..
i here ya there, alot of us never see a person for 100 miles out in the forest. Thank god for Sat phones, Joe
I get 20mpg and my dad's 500 Suzuki is around there also so your freinds bike sounds like it's in the ball park with most 500 utilities.
If your getting 20 miles to the gallon your doing great. I can tell you this much my ruby has 35 miles on it and I have already gone through a full tank of gas.
I have 130 miles on mine and get about 45 miles on a tank.I think i would get better if I rode in D2 all the time.
I've been out twice on mine, for a total of 47 miles. Yesterday I put on 27 miles on alot of different trail types. Rode in D1, D2 and ESP over long flat roads, through some slow narrow trails, over few logs. I tried to find as much varity as I could on a short day. Altitude was about 5000 ft. It used 1.3 gal in 27 miles for 20.7 mpg. The bike has a capacity of 4.7 gal total so its range should be 97.6 miles. I figure that any thing over a 80 mile ride I'll need to carry an extra can.
so is the 450's gas milage better than the rubicon, this is just my own question?
The tank is 3.7 gal. including 1 gallon reserve if you check your manual.Would not want to see someone run out of gas far from home.
A good rule of thumb is as the cc goes down the gas mileage goes up. If you want to play you have to pay.
My gets 25mpg unless mudding in low range all day. I go 90 mile and fill up usually. But that is about right.
