Hours and Miles on my 300EX?
So, you went with the 300EX? Good choice/great trail bike. They are a blast to ride. I use to bust out some pretty big air on ours. I would lose those balooney stock tires for some Holeshots or something with a square profile. It will make the bike corner better. And, the engine mods up nicely.

Yep, Trail Tech is the way to go. Accurate, compact, easy to install and fairly cheap in the US. Not so much in Canada, but still cheaper than a factory speedo which only tells you speed and mileage. I love my trail tech Only wish it had a power lead from the bike so it could have a constant night light function. Also wouldn't mind if it was a touch bigger .. it's awfully hard to read when you're going over 100km/h

Hours and Miles on my 300EX?
I just had a look on the Honda website at the arrangement on the 400EX. From what I can see, all you have to do is use the supplied handlebar mount (little plastic jobby that clamps around the bar) and then just chase your clutch cable, or front brake line down under the fenders. The it should be a simple matter of picking which front wheel you want to use for your sensor.
If you click on my camera icon, look at pic number 2 on my page. The computer is mounted on the left handlebar on my Warrior. The cable just follows the clutch cable down the steering column, and then branches off to follow the left hand wheel brake line. The installation kit comes with a few cable ties for securing the sensor cable.

I have a buddie with a 400ex (Nickli). He traced the shape of the speedo onto the headset cover and cut out a hole and mounted is the the headset (recessed in the plastic). It looks good and is a cheap mod.
you can usually find cheap Billet headsets on ebay that will house a trailtech speedo (if you dont want to pay full price.
I like my trailtech speedo
It has miantenance reminders and all. I just wish it had a tachometer, and a thermometer.

Bartlettracing, your icon is fugging hilarious, lol. I had one of those trialtech speedometers on my banshee, it was pretty sweet, but i lost it when i went over the bars. I have a picture of it in my pics page that says i hit 90.3 mph, which some people dont believe its right even though i havent messed with it since i had it.
