I just bought a rancher 4x2 es and I'm looking a putting Vamp's on the rear wheels. I asked a local dealer about it and he said that due to the fact the tires lock up so well it's putting a lot of strain on the rear end, he also said they have been doing some repairs due to the vibration caused by the tires. Have you guys heard of these tires doing any damage?

I have been running 26x13.50x11 and 25x9x11 on my 96 300 4x4 for about 4 years now and have not had any problems at all from them. These tires are awesome. They grab anything in their path and don't let go. Only time I have been stuck was by trying to push someone else out. They also wear great.

I have heard they tear rear ends up bad.My dealer said that Vampires were the best thing that ever happened to him.Meaning he makes way more money when people get Vampires because he always has to replace their rear end.

Yeah, they tear up the rear end alright. One of my friends put them on the back of his 2x4 300 and the driveshaft has broke twice. One of my other friends put them all the way around on a 4x4 300 and his front bearings went out. Another guy had them on his 2x4 300 and it completely seperated the front u-joint on the driveshaft(it busted through the case $$$$$) but, they ride on the highway with them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that they will only tear it up if you get too ambitious with the throttle. I mean, if you've got it revved out spinning the tires in 3rd gear and then hit a big hard sharp edge or something else that the tires would grab hard on, I can understand the drivetrain being stressed pretty bad. But if you are aware that this can happen, you shouldn't be doing that in the first place. Would you rev the engine up in neutral and then kick it into gear real quick? No, because you know it'll cause damage. Same principal.
