can you mod the stock foreman 450es exhaust?
I know it can be done, but I think the spark arrester is attatched to the cap. Also the muffler looks like its stainless steel? Any ideas? this is a free mod that i want to do. I have searched for at least a week, all over the web, in highlifter, & this site & havent had any luck. I read about one guy doing it, but he just said he did it, & didnt say how. toddo,
Yes it can be done, no it shouldn't be to hard. I did it on my priarie 650, it was a walk in the park, and my spark arrestor was also attached to the cap. Here are the basics on the job: 1. cutoff the end cap with a cut-off tool, a sawzall will also work 2. get a drill bit that is roughly as long as your muffler and drill 6 or so holes thourgh all of the baffles in the muffler housing 3. weld the endcap back on. Rememeber this, more holes, or bigger holes=more power, but also more noise. I would suggest 3/8" to 1/2" hole diameter. You can either keep or cut out the arrestor before putting the endcap back on, depending on what you want. You may also have to bump your main jet up one size to see maximum performance gains.
