It runs great it just won't idle. I tried screwing the choke knob up and down but no luck. Help me please, it's really gettin on my nerves.

you should have an idle screw on the carb.......I was once told that a racing 2 stroke engine wasn't supposed to idle...later

Clean the carb and the choke/idle assembly. Your jets might be plugged. If your throttle cable is stretched out too much, you may have to adjust the part by the thumb throttle. Screw it out, and your idle should go up in RPM's.

Check your main jet and bowl for dirt. Set your idle air screw back to the factory setting. Depends on the year. My 86 is 1 and 7/8 turns out. Did you check and clean your air filter. Make sure there is not a broken or cracked reed if nothing else. If you still dont get it you may need to go deeper in the carb. Good Luck!!
