can it harm anythig and if so what damage can it do. When I do it there is no grinding or anything it seems to shift smooth. I don't do it at low speeds only when I'm riding hard!

lol how can u be riding hard at low speeds. but anyway, pro riders do it because they are sponsord and get new clutches all the time. some people say it wont hurt anything if u do it on upshifts, but on downshifts never shift without clutch. i guess it would be fine if u only did it every once in a while like in a drag race but i personally wouldn't do it. if u wanna shift without a clutch then buy a 250ex

I had have to say if you only do once and a while it would be okay. Like he said upshifts only. Like people who are going really fast in cars speed shift and they don't use their clutches. But I would just use the clutch.

people who are driving fast in cars simply shift faster, they have to use the clutch, otherwise they wont be able to get it into gear. shifting w/o clutching on a quad shouldn't be a problem when upshifting, jus be careful on the downshifts.

Its safe to do if both sides of the clutch are spinning the same speed if you get what i mean. Like the quad isnt making the engine turn over more and the engine isnt makeing the quad slow down.

I used to shift my 87 Mustang GT without pushing in the clutch. It won't hurt anything if you know what your doing.

It goes something like this. Ride the clutch to get going in frist gear then at 3000 rpms take your foot off the gas and pull back on the shifter. It will slide out of first gear and down into second because the rpms will drop down and allow it to take.

I still drive around in my Acura and do this when I'm in traffic and too lazy too push in the clutch.

I always use the clutch on my Zilla and GSXR. But in my big-rig, all 9 gears get shifted without the clutch. It goes smoothly as long as the RPM's match the vehicle speed. Its an 18 speed so every time I split a gear I only haft slide a lever on the handle and let off the throttle. Kinda nice. But these transmissions aren't sychronized like in a car, and neither of these are anywhere near the same as on a quad, so there's no point in really posting this.
