Default Shootout: Rancher ES Gets Last Place!!

One of the deer hunting clubs I belong to has a bunch of memebrs with ATVs that they use for hunting; most of them Hondas and many of them Rancher ES models. These boys do not baby their machines. The biggest reason the ES mmodel is so popular, at oleast among hunters, is that you can operate the machine with huge hunting boots on. Try shifting a foot shift ATV with cold weather Pac Boots on!

We purchased a new Rancher ES for my son and he is enjoying trouble free operaiton. I was very sceptical about getting ES because I believ the the simpler, the better but the track record of other club members and the representations of my dealer and his service manager as to their trouble free service record convinced me. Think about it, he could have sold me either model and I doubt he made that much extra money by me going with the ES model.

As ocurred in one of the ATV mag articles I read, it is necessary to rock the machine once in a while if you see "- - -" on the gear displat instead of a number. For that matter, I have to rock my Kodiak now and again too.

Bottom line, get the ES and don't look back!

Buckweet, congrats on getting out of Kuwait and welcome home. Buy the Rancher ES...the sold floor boards offer great protection and we use them to haul rocks and tools and such. The ES shifter has worked perfect for ~1200 miles. My son prefers the Rancher ES shifter to my Rubicon in full auto. I am lazy and like the Ruby.

Compare their shootout in ATV Action to a NASCAR race. Lets say 'Little E' led the whole race, and with 5 laps to go had a tire go down forcing him into the pits to change it. As he pits, the whole field of cars pass him and he finishes last. DOES THIS MEAN HE HAD THE WORST CAR THERE ??? NOT !!!

The idiot testing the Rancher prolly found the tool in the toolbox, used to emergency shift the Rancher, and decided to try it, then tried to shift the Rancher electricly before resetting the ECM by turning the key off then back on. So he caused it to fail. Now lets say Poo or Kawi paid ATV action millions in advertising so they jump on the fact that the idiot made the electric shift fail on the Honda and published it. Making the Poo or Kawi the best, and securing another couple of million in advertizing in upcoming issues.

Them magazines are BS when it comes to their "the Best" tests, because its all about money. Who is the best is who has the deepest pockets concerning their magazine.
