It's no big deal, once you know the drill...............
Cold Start: Choke on full. Kick it over (never takes more than once, even if the bike has been sitting for a week), then idle it down by decreasing the choke. Nurse the throtle for a minute or two, until it begins to run smoothely.
Normal Hot Start (when the bike has been turned off normally): The bike needs to be LEAN, so NEVER TOUCH THE THROTLE BEFORE OR DURING A HOT START! Pull the hot start lever, kick it over (never takes more than one), and don't touch the throtle until the engine is running. If you hit the throtle, you are going to have to kick it over a bunch of times to clear the carb, and you have nobody to blame for your STUPIDITY, but yourself!
Stalled Engine Hot Start: This can present the biggest problem (particularly if you stall on a track)! A stalled engine will have to much fuel in the carburator, and may need to be kicked a few times to clear it out. Hold the hot start lever (to lean the mixture), but again, NEVER TOUCH THE THROTLE. After that, just follow the Normal Hot Start procedure.

It's no problem at all. I kick it once, that's all it usually takes....

The other day I went to ride when it was 90 degrees out. The r wouldn't start at all, prolly ten kicks. I used the hot start and the next kick it fired.
Has anyone else had this happen?
Worst thing it was in front of a Raptor buddy. He teased me for, well till I let him ride it.

Hey 20,
How does that 450 rate with you compaired to your 20 year old junk 2-stroker? I rode one with the HRC kit, piped, and geared before buying my 88. I was really excited to ride it, and disappointed with it after. I just couldnt bring myself to buy a 4-stroke.
