Well their was 1 incident i've heard of...it was my friend, he was trail riding and he passed something that caught his eye, he went back and it was a spike strip...he says it looked like a farmer put it there.

Sorry to hear about that incident. Hard to believe someone would try and hurt you on your own trail. I would consider mounting a video camera near that spot and try taping it. The idiot that did that will probably return to check on his work, then the tape would go to the authorities.

 

Dave00 has the right idea. Obviously you are not going to invite the local neighborhood eco-***** over for a BBQ because there is probably nothing you can do to change their opinion of you. But remember that everybody from the eco-**** to your neighbor, average Joe Blow, form an opinion of you and other ATVers from what they experience. If their experiences of you are positive you are less likely to have a problem with them. How many times have you seen people leaving trash, riding near homes, tearing down no tresspassing signs or whatever??? Face it, most ATVers are decent people but there are a few boneheads who give the rest of us a bad name. I do believe in extending the olive branch to those that don't understand our sport. By all means, don't poison their dog or anything stupid like that.

 

i was letting them walk on it untill i rode through my property and left my quad at the gate and went to a freinds house and i was going back through the gate and some CRAZY lady stoped and started telling me that was privite property and she was gonna call the cops! i was like no s**t she wouldnt belive me that that it was mine so she called the cops and i just laughed cops said "you should listen to people more often" i just had the cops call my mom...... which i told her to do anthor time
and yes my mom and her freinds ride horses back there THIS was when we decided it wasnt a good idea for them to walk back there and walk there dogs because my moms freind was rideing a horse back there and she saw a person with 3 dogs first thing the person said is o dont worrie about these two but i just picked this one up from the pond a few days ago so i am not sure about him (she was holding him on a lesh) than she my moms freind said ok dont let go of the dog tell im away so she was about half way across the field and the person let the dog go the first thing the dog did was start runing after the horse! and started biteing at its legs while the horse spun in circles trying to kick the dog somebody (or the animals) could have been seriously hurt
and anthor thing this is going through a subdivision right now and they keep trying to make ever little excuse on why we cant build back there so we cant have them go back there and plant indangerd plants or something (i wouldnt doubt that they would) i still think it was this one kid i seen back there a few times that dosnt like me and is messed up and YES if i catch him back there again i dont think he will want to come back.....

Ok I know its not funny and I have already apologized at HL I just wanted to make it clear that I wasn't serious.

 

I would just like to kno what is goin through these peoples heads when they do this stuff, i mean, what kind of sick person puts rusty fish hooks and spike boards where a lil kid could get caught of them, or blow a tire and wreck and have serious injuries. All the while, he was just trying to have a lil fun, why would anyone actually want to do that is beyond my understanding. There is a green person that just joined the seirra club that lives down the street from me, and untill now he has not had any problems with my riding in the woods by our houses. I guess i will just have to watch out a little closer now since all this has can into light. Thanks for lettin me know bout these sick and twisted things that tree-huggers do before i got caught in one, and to all of you that have been caught, i feel so bad for you, because now you must feel like it isnt safe to even enjoy this sport anymore............

The idea with the camera is great...then you have proof. So exacally how many people go on that trail?? Does that kid have a dirtbike or ATV???

I heard this from someone in these forums...."Bones heal", so go teach him a lesson....try to give him lots of punches in the face....have fun! LOL

 

Although I don't think anyone has ever tried to kill me.I did have a sticker vine thingy grab around my nexk while I was on my 300ex in 3 gear it hurt bad and made it look like I was trying to hang my self.
