Default 440EX

my friend has a 440ex with the head totally worked. stage 2 cam, bigger valves, high comp piston, i can take him through the woods with my raptor.... but on the track.... i might as well keep it loaded up cuz im goona get my butt handed to me on a gold platter. Its sad that he has all that work done to his 4wheeler, and yet he still keeps the stock head pipe saying "aftermarket wont help" i might just get him a head pipe for his birthday or somethin..... then i better just not ride the raptor anymore... cuz he will beat me everywhere.

And to all the raptor owners out there.... I FEEL YA!!!!! i have had nothing but problems with mine! IM tryin to sell it, but with all my aftermarket stuff on it, a dealer wont even give me 2 grand for it. and i cant find anybody that wants a raptor...... Ive even come down to 3500... and still nobody wants it...
Man.... that sucks

Just put on the Sparks x6 exhaust today, love the look, and fit!I have to say it gives the Honda a nice rumble, haven't got to try it yet with all the rain were getting.I have a 12:1 416 piston soon to be going in it,waiting on the cam before i tear it down.Anyway do any of you guys run the Sparks? If so what do you recommend on jetting? It currently has Sparks ex.,rev box,uni filter. Thanks,Marvin

I have a raptor and i dont have any trouble with it. Whats going on with your raptors? Everytime i read this stuff it makes me want to just sell it off and go back to a 400 ex and build it up. Im doing that anyways if i sell the raptor or not, but still, whats going on?

my rappy, i have to adjust the valves after every ride, cuz they tighten up.... its a 2002, so it shouldnt do that. i dont ride it extremely hard or anything.... i barely open it up. and all the parts on it break. ive went thru a bearing carrier, and axle bearings, rear hubs, front shocks. Dont get me wrong.... when it runs, it runs like a mother... but i spend most of the time gettin it to run. the raptors have alot of torque... and for me, its too much, ive completely snapped in two, 3 rear sprockets already... and these arent the cheap sprockets. ive run a sunstar, moose, and the stockers.... finally i sucked it up and got the sidewinder. anybody got a z400 or kfx, or 250r they wanna trade? lol, after tellin ya all my problems

my raptor runs fine, and compared to my my friends 440ex you would think that my rappy is a honda with its reliablity. his 440 overheats all the time. it is rediculous.. that thing breaks every other ride...it was all built professionally too. we drag raced and i pulled on him through 2nd,3rd,4th,5th, first is where he jumped me off the line and thats it

I have notion that the stock 400EX head pipes are pretty tuff to beat. Its slightly smaller than aftermarket pipes and pulls harder from idle well up into the power band. Sure it gets beat at peak RPMs but that isn't where we do most of our riding. Plus its stainless steel and will polish up to always look great.
Mine is all stock but if I do anything in future I think it will be a 416, cam, and silencer only.
