This is the mount that i came up with. I believe it to be superior to the model that has your winch mounted upside down take a look and see for yourself. If interested in obtaining one contact me at my e-mail address.Kewlpop@hotmail.com To view pictures go to the url site listed below. http://communities.msn.com/WinchmountRubicon

Your winch mount looks very sanitary, congratulations!
Looks like your design puts the winch cable fairlead at a near-optimum position for extraction; also, there's very little, if any, projection beyond the bumper, insuring minimum interference with banks or logs you may climb or jump.
Could you explain the purpose and function of the "pull cable?" I'd think you'd use the winch cable ordinarily for pulls from the front; however, I can see how the pull cable would conveniently provide a pull point when using a ****** block.
Again, congratulations on a neat piece of work.

Thanks Tree Farmer for the compliments,to answer your question as to the why for the pull cable. It serves two purposes actually and you were correct in your assumtion as its use for a ****** block hook up. Secondly its used as a pull point for others to hook there winch or tow rope to me to pull me out from the front. Sometimes its easier to be pulled out by someone else rather than to go to the winch. This pull cable provides a safe place to be tugged out from without pulling on your racks etc. Or just in case the ole winch goes haywire on you and decided not to co-operate.The plastic gears in these WARN WINCHES are not meant to be pulled on as in a recovery situation. What is meant here is dont ever be jerked or pulled by your winch cable, its designed to do the pulling not to be pulled by Hope this bit of insight helps someone.Happy riding Kewlpop..
