I don't know why it couldn't be done. Someone on this forum has built a platform on a trailer. I remember seeing the pictures months ago. You may not want to extend it too much past the trailer wheels. You would only be adding to the width and not the length. Just make sure everything is fastened down and balanced good. Also make sure you won't be over loading the trailer considering the weight of the wood, plywood, and two quads.
