I have a Z400 with a pipe and it beat a friends bone stock 450r by a couple bike lengths know problem. The 450r's stock are pretty slow they only make 33hp.

what a bullsh*tter u are. they make more then 33hp 1st of all. that dyno u saw that on they were running stock knobbie tires. dynos were made to run SLICKS. with slicks they make anywhere from 37-40 hp. a piped z400 will not touch even a stock 450r let alone beat it. tell ur buddy to give it to someone who knows how to ride it

I have heard a lot of talk regarding differant dyno readings from differant
companies. There is a lot to be said about who is doing the dyno testing as well
as the honesty of the dyno operator. This is a comparison of the best YFZ450
run that I have to date with what I call my dyno tires. I use them on all quad
dyno runs. The other run is with the stock knobbys. So when you look at dyno
runs be sure to look at what they are comparing it to and not the actual numbers
unless they will give you accurate info on their runs.

I own both and there is no way in he!! your piped Z was anywhere near the 450. On a track or trails sure, anything can happen there, but not in a drag. I don't know about the 33hp for a 450 I haven't done mine yet but I have done my Z and it was lower then that, but all dynos are different. Tell your friend to take some riding lessons, no way he should lose to your Z...................

Sportrax- 33hp as stated compared to your 40hp with slicks is a 7 hp difference. 33-40=7hp right. I just pumped it up a knotch with the 10. You reaching up in the 40s was very bold.

Yeah, the slicks will gain you 2-3 ponies at the most and they will give a more consistant reading. All dynos read different. Im SURE on a trinity type dyno it will get 43 ponies out of a 450r.

I used do dyno my ds on a deisle dyno, So a stock ds got 32-33hp with semi smooth tires.

The 450R also handles whoops extremely well if you have the suspension dialed in for that kind of riding and your weight.
Ihave a friend who has a 440EX (soon to be a 450EX) and he also has a 450R. His 440EX cannot even touch the 450R.
Like I said, you must have been dreaming or smokin' some really good stuff!
I was checking into different cams. If we port it more and re-cam, it will get closer. Big valves added to that and I could pass the R. It would cost alot and I would have to bring the EX chassis up to snuff. I'll stick to the woods with the EX.

F off a$$hole. I could careless what bike beat what. The Z400 is my girlfriends so I could careless if it won or not. The 450r is a slow bike from the factory without a doubt. The rider had nothing to do with it because we have switched bikes before and it did not matter. So why don't you back off your little angry inch you got goin on !
